Un Boeing 787 Dreamliner a dû atterrir d'urgence tôt après le décollage de YUL quand un des deux moteurs a eu des problèmes. Il venait d décoller en direction de Shanghai.

Atterrissage sans problème.

Mais le Dreamliner a donné des cheveux gris plusieurs fois, à bien du monde.

Quand on ferme un moteur sur un bi-moteur il fait chaud à bord...

Ce matin La Presse tente de minimiser l'impact de son article d'hier.

La vérité ne doit pas être publiée on dirait. Nous le public client de lignes aériennes ne sommes pas assez intelligents pour comprendre.

Voici donc quelques infos

CitationOn September 15, 2012, the NTSB requested the grounding of certain 787s due to GE engine failures; GE believed the production problem had been fixed by that time.

Cet avion a connu 30 problèmes moteur important dont 21 ont résulté en "shut down" alors qu'on a dû arrêter un des deux moteurs et ce depuis juin 2013. Quelles sont les probabilités qu'on perde alors l'usage de l'autre moteur? Difficile à dire. Il y a environ 500 avions de cette série en usage dans le monde. Il permet (comme le C Series) une économie d'opération de l'ordre de 20%. Tout le fuselage est en composite. Il possède plusieurs innovations et dans l'ensemble fonctionne à merveille.

Ahhh bon et pourquoi?

J'ai parlé des probabilités que le second moteur maintenant le seul en fonction lui aussi tombe en panne. L'avion devient alors un planeur. Et Robert Piché a fait spectaculairement ses preuves dans pareil cas.
